Joanne's Story

Life Joanne (Pyle) Mason - My life after Marshall is in some ways traditional. I went to nursing school, got married at 21 and had three children in fast succession. My life started to change with a stint on T.V. being a host of a daytime homeshow. Lot’s of fun. The 70’s came and I became involved with feminism and got divorced after reading Betty Freidan’s “Feminine Mystique”. I’m glad my mother said , ”you better have a career to fall back on”. d became a psychotherapist in private practice. I had another stint on T.V., on a cable T.V. show called “Woman at Work” interviewing women in non-traditional careers. My latest focus is teaching a mind/body dance called NIA. I love it and it keeps me fit and energized. I married a wonderful man about 10 years ago after being single for 18 years. My children are great (isn’t that what we all say) and I have six grandchildren. My husband and I travel a great deal and love many sports and activities. I’m not sure if this is very traditional or not but it’s been great and if you read between the lines it’s also been difficult at times with life’s trials that we’ve all experienced.
