Joanne's Story

Life I love classmates.com. I start Nursing School in August at Lincoln Memorial University. And WHEN I graduate I am considering either going back in the Army as an officer and helping our soldiers as a Nurse or working with Psychiatric patients at a local hospital. I especially would love to work with patients who are clinically depressed and who are at risk for suicide, because of my fathers suicide I feel a need to help others. If I could help just one person or family member not have to live through the pain my family did I feel he will not have died in vain. If there are any Nurses out there that have any suggestions as to how to get through Dosage Calculations for someone who is mathmatically challenged I would really appreciate it. But I know I WILL make it through it will just be hard and I will have to work alot harder than some. I still live in the same place I have lived for the last 16 years. Tennessee, but Texas will always be my home. Tennessee is beautiful but way too cold in the winter. And rains way too much in the spring. I am an avid exerciser and have lost 60 pds in the last year for health reasons. I now have found I enjoy it and do it for that now. I love yoga, bellydance, TaeBo, Pilates, and just about any kind of dance exercise video. I also love to take my Great Dane walking (actually she walks me), or the grandkids or bo...Expand for more
th. Beautiful places here in Tennessee to walk and hike. So I don't know what else to say but Hello to all my old classmates and hope you are all doing well. Making lots of new friends on classmates that I didn't remember till I looked at their pictures. But having a blast. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the living room and add on a exercise room. My dream home would be a very large victorian mansion. What about me would surprise everyone at the high school reunion? Well after graduation I really cleaned up my act. No drugs, or crazy stunts with lots of guys since I had a really bad reputation in high school. I joined the army and left for basic 2 weeks after graduation and haven't touched anything since. The only bad habit I have is cigarettes. I'm just a boring old married lady and grandma. I no longer am the geeky, weird girl from back then. I now am strong and very able to stand up for what I believe. I used to just sit back and take it now No one walks over me and treats me with disrespect except for maybe my kids when they were teenagers but thats just the way kids are sometimes, they have their moods. I'm still a unique individual but now I am stronger both emotionally and physically. I don't have to depend on the approval and stroking by others for my happiness. I get my high from life and the world around me instead of from drugs.
