Joanne's Story
Life
Happily retired and busier than ever! Two adult children: daughter Ellen married and residing nearby in LaGrange Park, IL. Son Joseph back home following a personal catastrophe when his intended died in freak accident. Living in Elmhurst, IL for more than 30 years but plan on selling and moving to a more rural environment.
Current passion is quiltmaking which I started at retirement; also sewing up decorative pillows and selling them on eBay. I have never been so busy! And I love it!
Recently lost my brother George, USN Retired, who has lived in the San Diego area since his "retirement" at age 37. There are many relatives and extended family in CA whom I miss very much. Other than my own children, there are no more relatives of mine in this area.
I love gardening and decorating but my son Joe is the Master Gardener and our house gardens are quite spectacular. He claims he needs more room!

eived an award as Teacher of the Year in the recent past. Her wonderful hubby, Chris is a big shot in loss prevention at Starbuck's and travels quite a bit. They live close by in LaGrange Park.
The things I enjoy (besides the sewing) are sleeping until I wake up; my sweet kittycat; trying new cookbook meals; surfing the Web; re-purposing flea market finds; antiques; laughing at jokes; actually remembering why I came into a room; bicycle riding; gardening (when possible); historic buildings; local history (hated this in school); discovery of any kind; and more....
Having married twice badly, I discovered that I am happier now than when I was, although I enjoy the companionship of my guy pals.
I feel I have lived well between the dark spots and am satisfied with my accomplishments and am still excited about the future. I am never bored and always thrilled with discoveries.
Would enjoy sharing snippets of the lives of the many classmates I remember from Morton, just to know how these folks are doing, where they are, etc.
