Joanne's Story
Not that anyone out there really remembers me or even gives a hoot as I was one of the group who mainly hung out on the corner across the street from the school and smoked, but here's an idea of what's happened in the last 42 years (I can't believe it's been that long!).
I went to Moorpark CC for a short while but mainly went straight to working full time. I was fortunate enough to get a job with TWA in 1979 and that started my passion for the travel industry.
I moved to Hawaii for about 6 months in 1984 and when I came back, went to work for a local Hawaiian Tour Operator and after 5 years, went to work for another Hawaiian tour operator in Northern Calif. During these years I was lucky to get to travel to Hawaii on a regular basis.
A chance trip to Florida to visit a friend (also a Royal alum) changed my life yet again. I fell in love with Florida and when I came back from my trip, made plans to move there. On the day I left California, I happened to meet my future ...Expand for more
husband.
I lived in Minnesota during my marriage (brrrrrrr) and when it ended, moved to Charlotte, N.C. where I had some family living. It was a beautiful place, but I longed to return to Florida and eventually moved back in December 1994, where I have been ever since.
I currently am a Director for a major cruise brand and in my spare time I wrote a book - 'Vanishing Angle'. It's a murder/mystery/romance that is centered around the crew who work on board a cruise ship. Written under my maiden name Warren. It is available now.
E-version is available on Amazon Kindle, Google Play Books and iTunes - books.
Hard copy is offered through Amazon and Barnes & Noble..
One of my regrets in life is that I didn't stay in touch with most of the people I knew back in the day. Had some fun times with them while coming of age. While I still talk regularly with Kathy Cservek (Varchal) and on occasion Sue Couch and John Keller, I'm still looking for Carolyn Pearson and Sharon Wiley.
