Joanne's Story
Moved to Arizona in 1973 with just my Mom and Dad. Eventually the rest of the family migrated out here. After high school I went into banking where I met my husband, Ron. We married in 1980. In 1985 we decided to move to Hawaii. Great place to live but the tropical foliage brought on allergy induced asthma so in 1985 it was back to Arizona for us. My husband is in law enforcement, undercover narcotics to be specific.
I currently work as a Budget Analyst in the second largest district in Arizona. With 108 schools to monitor with one other person, I can never say I'm bored! Even after 10 years I still love my job and helping the schools.
We used to spend our summers in Colorado, then took a cruise for our 25th anniversary and have been hooked on cruising ever since. Our second favorite vacat...Expand for more
ion is spending a week at a resort in Mexico. In May, 2010 we will celebrate our 30th anniversary at a resort in Cozumel, Mexico. The water is clear and beautiful there. In November 2010 my husband retires and we leave on a celebration cruise to Hawaii and back leaving out of L.A. Can't wait! It will be our first visit back to the islands in 25 years. In between our bigger vacations we spend time in California with Ron's family or taking day trips around Tucson to old ghost towns, western towns, etc.
We never had kids and have never had any regrets. We have had numerous dogs over the years (even had grandpuppies one year!). Currently we have one dog who thinks he is an only child and won't have it any other way.
Life has it's ups and downs but all in all, I think mine has been pretty good.
