Jody's Story
Wow, how time flies! I know that I have been hard to keep up with, because we have moved 22 times. After graduation from Sandia, attended UNM and graduated with BS, double major in Education. Married senior year at UNM. Taught for 11 years in Albuquerque, Corrales, Rio Rancho, Eagle Nest and Cimmeron, New Mexico. In the mean time, we had two awesome sons. We developed and co-owned, Jeffrey Real Estate Co. and Jeffrey Construction in Corrales, N.Mex. We sold our businesses and moved to San Francisco East Bay area for my husband to go to graduate school. I had to go back to 5 different colleges to get recertified to teach in Cal. WHEW!!!
After my husband's graduation from graduate school, he became ordained as a Lutheran pastor. We moved again to Walnut Creek, Ca., where he officiated as a PASTOR. I was able to keep my teaching job in the nearby town. 7 years later we were relocated to ...Expand for more
Provo, Utah to start a church. I taught at Plesant Grove High school. YEP, WE MOVED AGAIN.
We moved back to East Bay area where our boys and granddaughters live. I finished up my 44 year teaching career at Freedom High school. Now retired, we care for our 2 year old and 10 yr. old Granddaughters, 3 times a week, while there Mom and Dad teach. What a blessing TO BE A GRANDMA AND GRANDPA!
I sound like an egotistic but I am really just trying to keep these old bones moving. Just started an after school program in the Antioch School Dist. to teach children positive values ( forgiveness, politeness, helping each other, how to speak to each other and adults in positive manner to state their needs). It has worked so well that parents paid for over 400 tickets to come to a good old fashion activity night on a Friday and the principal that approved the program received "Principal of the Year".
