Jody's Story

2010 - 2103: What is Jody Green doing in Hawaii ? I would like to say this is a happy story of getting rich and living my dream in Hawaii. But not so, it cost me $3M to get here and here is the "funny" story ! I was living in Blissfield, MI where I was buying several properties and renovating them. I had the Odd Fellows hall downtown for over 20 years and was approached by a woman named Kay Brown who wanted to buy that building. I gave her a very reasonable price and she responded that she did not want to buy at that price but wanted to buy it for the price I had paid for it 20+ years prior. I told her that it had 500,000 bricks in it, tin ceilings through-out, hard maple floors, and lots of other building materials which I could sell for much, much, so much more than her offer. I told her I would rather tear it down than sell it to her for her offer. Actually, I would never have torn the building down; I had done years of restoration work to Rebekah. I loved that old building named "Rebekah" and wanted to restore her to her former glory. And I had all of the wonderful antiques and antique building materiaIs to do just that. I have always loved antiques and old buildings. I actually remembered that building from my childhood when we would take rides up into Michigan which was one of the reasons I bought it. I also told her I would get the village some recognition on the TV when I had the building imploded ! The next week police chief Jane, her friend and co-conspirator, came to my house and threatened "to arrest and try me as a terrorist, if I did not cease and desist their efforts to gain my properties". They also wanted the 36 prime commercial acres that I controlled on US 223 directly across from McDonalds. I had approximately $750,000+ into those properties; and Brown (her husband is on the village council) and the important "village people" now own that acreage. They purchased it for $150,000 at an sham auction where there was only one other bidder. I was then forced to sell 60,000 sq. ft. of wonderful antiques which I had collected for 40 years. I was going to convert the old Cannery into an entertainment complex with it's own bar, soda fountain, chapel, rental hall, etc. etc. All with those architectural antiques and collections I had saved for my dream. I was forced to liquidate and had $3M stolen from me by the greedy, hateful people who had tried to run me out of town for 20 years because I owned too much of their town. Then the Old Barn Auction, Vicki X? and Tim Speck, in Findlay, wholesaled my $1M antique lighting collection against my wishes for $100K and the auctioneer in Atlanta, GA just never paid me for the 4 - 20 ft. trailers loaded with wonderful antiques which I shipped to him. You can watch that lying SOB's Atlanta auction Gallery 63 on TV ! So, I ran away to Hawaii to avoid being arrested and tried as a terrorist, which would not have even allow me to defend my self. Forty years of my work, love, and savings stolen by greedy, evil people and the village of bliss. This is the reward for going to war, "doing My duty" for my country. And because I am a Nam Vet, they used the terrorist law to get me out of town. How can people be so greedy and evil ? Don't they have a conscience ? "Just another day in the Nam !" As we said in Nam, "Life's a Bitc_, and then you die." And we still are !!!!!!!!!! Nov. 2013, Story Update; I just re-connected with a couple Nam Vets I served with. They were at Nam Hoa also. One guy was my squad leader and inadvertently saved my life by refusing to proceed into the ambush that night. He told our Lt. and Captain, that it was unsafe to proceed because it was getting dark and it would be unwise to walk into an ambush at night. We had already seen tunnel entrances, "spider holes" and evidence of the enemy and it was spooky quiet when we had "re-conned" to "the fallen log" across the trail. But the NVA didn't want just our squad, they wanted the whole company in their ambush. He was dead-on correct; the Captain said "F___ him and his men" and he proceeded up the trail. Not 5 minutes later, he walked the replacement point squad into the fires of Hell. The NVA had the fallen log as the pre-designated ambush site, and hit them with RPG's, ...Expand for more
machine gun fire and small arms weapons (AK-47,s). That first squad was decimated, most were killed or wounded ! Then the NVA continued to mortar and fire upon the company all night, continuing to kill and wound. Al because of the FNG. gung-ho, stupid captain ebert. Curse him; I hope he relives every day, what he did to those young men. He probably even got a medal and a promotion for his stupidity. Was it worth all the killed and wounded to retrieve 1 dead soldier ? After that, I said, leave my dead ass out there if it were me; not worth more lives to retrieve a body. I might also add; this was a suicide mission. The higher eschelon knew of the 1,500 NVA troops at that location. Also, a helicopter pilot from Clay HS had informed them that the area was no properly prepped for our insertion; the B-52 bombings had missed the mountain and the enemy positions weren't even touched, let alone destroyed. I also spoke with another man from our platoon recently, who said that our platoon only had a half dozen members that were not killed or wounded. I was one of them; yes, I have survival guilt. I also learned that the last US artillery barrage which our Forward-Observer called in, killed at least one of our own men. He heard the FO say "drop 25 meters" and he said "don't do that" ! "Too late, incoming" said the FO, and the barrage killed his best friend right next to him, who did not hear the conversation or the in-coming, and failed to seek refuge in his fox hole. [ I can now can say I have been blown-up (or down) 7 times and should have been killed 10 times. I have been "blown -up" by the Viet Cong, the NVA, the S. Vietnamese Army, the USA, and our own men.] Also confirmed, I probably "bagged and tagged" that beautiful young man named Greene, and we had to carry him out of the jungle. "Dead Weight" is the heaviest burden in the world and it weighs one down for the rest of your life. 2011: Funny thing; I just learned I have an inbox on Classmates. You guys want some stories? Wow, no one has ever been interested before ! Want a good story? What were you doing April 15, 1971? I was visiting "Hamburger Hill". Go to this site; blackied2501 and read the stories about "Nam Hoa" and "Eagle Dust Off". I was in-country" just 3 weeks and we were sent on a suicide mission. See, I Have been to Hell. As we said in the Army, "Life's a Bitc_ and then You Die", and we did."Look to your left, look to your right , and one of you three will not return!" They proved it that night. Annnnnnnnnd a brother named GreenE, did die that night. I should have been killed that night; However, I 0nly died inside that night. They gave us a CIB (Combat Infantry Badge) for that night. A very valuable piece of metal to me; alot of guys died and got wounded for that medal which would not even buy me a cup of tea ! I am now hiding in Maui, HI, at the 4,800' elevation on the biggest dormant volcano on this planet , waiting for it to explode so I can return to Hell ! 10-29-11 Shucks, I guess no one liked my little story; no one had a damned thing to say! SOS! So here is one of my favorite poems written by a Nam Vet. You won't like it either, HA! HA! "NOBODY TO TALK TO" I've got nobody to talk to, so I'll put it down on paper just for you. I fought in a senseless war, now my friends don't talk to me any more. They say I have a heart of steel, yet they won't listen to how I feel. I changed too much I've been told, when I left I was young and came back old. The transition from boy to man was just too fast, maybe that is why I can't forget the past. The memories and dreams come every day or so, God how I wish I could let them go. I would have rather been shot down dead, than come back with all these nightmares in my head. I've got both arms and legs that's plain to see, so in their eyes there's nothing wrong with me. The hostages of Iran were heroes and got a big parade, but not a word of thanks did I get when I came home that day. You may wonder why I'm bitter and can't forget, just remember how our country treated the Vietnam Vet! written by John Hudson 3/25/12 PS. I don't think this was the John Hudson who went to Waite. I have always wondered what happened to John; he was a nice guy. I hope the world hasn't beaten him up too badly.
