Being military men we wanted to express our support for the troops and remember our own military service as well. Jody comes from the late 30's and early 40's when the young men of that era were going off to war, Jody or "Joe the Grinder" was the guy who didn't go to boot camp and stayed behind to steal your whiskey, your women and your Cadillac! When you hear the military cadences with the call from the drill instructor and the response from the troops, those are the "Jody calls" that every military person has the honor of singing.
