Joe's Story
[Note: In 1983, "Joe Claussen" changed his name back to his birth name "Joseph Hart Williams IV" and dropped the "Joseph" part, which he never liked.]
=================
Hart Williams attended Texas Christian University on a National Merit Scholarship. As if to disprove the wisdom of that honor, he dropped out at the end of his junior year -- having realized that his vocation was writing and that colleges actually didn't do very well in teaching that profession.
He lived in Hollywood for a decade and a half. In that time, he wrote for newspapers, magazines, film and video. Some of his works are mentioned at least eight times in the Meese Commission Report.
He has two paperback novels in and out of print. He has written criticism, essays, short stories, articles, interviews, service pieces and even "girl copy" for men's magazine photo spreads.

azon. He has written for venues from The Tutuveni (newspaper of the Hopi Tribe) to the Washington Post, the Kansas City Star and the Los Angeles Free Press.
He left LA and moved back to Santa Fe for four minimum wage years, thence moved to Oregon, where he still lives, a quarter century later. He has two children, five marriages, has owned six cats, five birds and no dogs. Active in astronomy and politics, his blog was responsible for busting a coast-to-coast Koch brothers electoral scheme (2006) and in forcing the Oregon Republican Party Chair out of a congressional race when Williams revealed that said chair had received nearly a million dollars in dark Koch money.
For many years, he supplemented his income by working as an acoustic singer/songwriter in clubs. He is currently working on a recorded retrospective.
He is currently semi-retired and shows his artwork in a desperate attempt at a sunset career. He still seeks new venues in which to make trouble.
