After graduating from Aviation, I attended Los Angeles Harbor College because they offered an AA degree in Printing Technology; I had taken printing classes from Carl Green all four years at AHS. (I was accepted to Cal Poly SLO but lacked the funds to attend there). While attending Harbor, I met Jacqueline, who has been my wife of 50 years as of June 2018. I received my AA degree and transferred to CSU Los Angeles where I received my BA in Printing Management in 1968. I went to work for a large printing firm, Arcata Graphics, immediately after graduation. I was a customer service representative for Newsweek Magazine and Automobile Club publications. As the Vietnam War escalated, and my college deferment expired, I was able to join a Psychological Operations Army Reserve unit in San Pedro due to my printing background. A friend told me about an opening for a printing instructor at Redondo Union High School, so I applied and got the position. I started in 1972 and taught Graphic Arts and Printing Occupations for 30 years. When Aviation closed in 1982, the teachers were split between Mira Costa and Redondo. I ended up being colleagues with some of the teachers we had at Aviation, including Mark Arwine, Hal Rhine, Jim Walker, Tom Lemley, Duncan Parker, Ken Wilson and Larry Boyd.
