Alright, here it goes. We moved from El Sereno in the summer of 1971 where I ended up attending Mark Keppel for three years from 9-11 grades. I had a very, very short-lived football career due to a condition called Osgood- Schlatters, where I had to stop playing sports altogether. I then became a partier where we did alot of it! Those of you who were there know what we did. Oh yeah, I did go to school too. I let my hair grow and became known as indian Joe. I met alot of great people there and we had some good times. Met alot of girls back then but there was only one who had an impact on my life and who I still miss is CAROL DE LA ROSA! I fell in love with her instantly. What a kisser, oomph! Anyway my family moved to Pico Rivera in summer 1974, where I ended up attending El Rancho High school for my senior year. I graduated on Friday, June 13, 1975! I still had my long hair when I graduated! We had the biggest class ever; close to 1,000 strong. I got accepted to Yale University back in 1974. That was a trip for this dude here. I had a great senior counselor who made me open my eyes and I finally realized that I did have a brain. So much for brains because I didn't go to Yale. Smart one, eh? Before I did graduate, I wanted to go in the service but my mom wouldn't sign because I was only 17 yrs. old. I didn't like the neighborhood where we moved to. Too many gangs in Pico Rivera! After graduating I still tried to go in the service but because of my past police record, it was pretty hard. I ended up attending Rio Hondo College for a short time and ended going into the workforce. I worked for UPS like alot of my friends at the time. Anyway, I got tossed out of the house and went on my own, got my own place after staying with a friend, etc., etc. I ended up meeting my first wife, Sylvia at ELAC in 1977, I think.
