My Story by Me!
I was born at a very early age in Newark NJ. I lived at 314 Ferry Street for the first 15 years of my life. I attended St. Benedicts Grammar School. I had lots of friends and you know who you are. When I was a kid I loved photography and astronomy. Got my first telescope from Santa Clause when I was 13 years old. Being a GEEK at the time (still today) I volunteer at The Newark Museum on Saturdays. I would help assemble Museum displays. In return I would get a free ticket to the Planetarium Show. I used to take the Number 22 bus to and from the Museum it cost me 10 cents each way. What a deal. I would take lots of photos and experimented with the camera, Kodak Box Camera, I'll post one of my favorites. There was an old abandon building on Main Street we would call the lot "The Jungle". I think it was an old textile mill, we use to go inside to look around it was cool. All the old machinery and belt drives it looks like horses or mules turned the drive shaft for the mill. The local Bums, OOPs I meant work challenged would gather there to share some spirits (Gallo Wine $1 a Gallon). I know I'm being mean but I call it the way I saw it. I'm getting off point.
After St. Benedicts I attended Arts High School on High Street in Newark. I was a Fine Art student then studied Graphic Art in my senior year. I was an average student didn't like doing homework. I got good test scores but with no homework it would knock down my overall grade. I should have done the homework! But after high school I went to work for Celanese Plastics Co. as a Chemical technician. Ya! Beats me, I took tests to see where I would fit in and they made me a technician. Worked there for 1 ý years full time second shift. It gave me a chance to go to RCA Institutes in Manhattan NYC for Electri...Expand for more
cal Engineering. After RCA Institutes I went to work at RCA Microwave in Harrison NJ. Worked there as a Product Engineer for 6 years. More to come. If you think it's not too boring.
Well to continue, I married JoAnn Lubanski in 1970 (Grad East Side 1966) and we have been together ever since. We have 3 children, twin boys and a beautiful daughter. The boys Andrew and Eric live in Maine, they are both Computer Programmers. Andy graduated RPI and Eric graduated WPI. Andy is married and has 2 children, Derek and Xandra two wonderful grandchildren. Our daughter Jyoti (pn Jodie) graduated from NHTI and has her own hair salon. She is married and has a daughter another beautiful Granddaughter. Eric is still available and doing well. He is very active in sports . His latest adventure is a 180 mile bike trek across Maine to raise money for Cancer. We are very blessed to have them.
We lived in Rockaway, NJ before moving to NH. We love it here even with the cold winters. Ya gotta love Snow! Brrrrr! ;>)
I continued to work as an Engineering Consultant for most of my time here. Retired two years ago and enjoying it. Spend most of my time with my life long hobby, Ham Radio my call sign is K1EEB. I also am working on our Family Trees. This has been interesting but no mass murders in the family, Oh well! very interesting anyway. JoAnn is still gainfully employed at the Sant Bani School as an Administrative Assistance. Well that's my life in a nut shell.
I would like to hear from any old friends. It's been an interesting life with all its up and downs. JoAnn and I have had our fair share but we thank God for the life we have. As we all enter the final portions of our lives we need to take it day by day and be thankful! We all have plenty of life in us so enjoy!
