Jose' (Joe)'s Story
Life:
I'm am currently the Interim Director for the School of Aviation and a "Full" Professor at Southern Illinois University (SIU). My wife, Lorelei, my son, Joshua, and I live in Murphysboro, IL. My son, Joshua, is a junior in college. I also have a beautiful daughter, Allison, who graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2018 with a degree in Psychology. I have lived in Southern Illinois for over 27 years. I love my family and my profession. We are very blessed!

I am a Professor in the School of Aviation at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
I was an air traffic controller, a commissioned air traffic control officer and a communications officer in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years.
I was the Director of Basic Skills at Dodge City Community College - an English as a Second Language (ESL) program.
I possess a commercial pilot license with instrument and multi-engine ratings.

Military:
My experience in the Air Force was great! The Air Force played a pivotal role in my life. Any measure of success that I have today can be attributed in large part to the opportunities presented to me while in the Air Force. I separated at the rank of Captain.
