Joe's Story
Well, I am not comfortable talking about myself, but here it goes for what it is worth.
I have live in Seattle Washington since 1988 when I came up via a work transfer. It's a beautiful place if you like the outdoors, which I do. I have a son, Joey from a previous marriage. Joey is 24 years old, very popular in school, very athletic, and has a good moral compass, needless to say I am very proud of him, and pleased to say we have a very close relationship.
Life has blessed me over and over again. That doesn't mean to say I haven't had my share of trials and tribulations like the rest of us, but good friends have always been there for me. I have had a good and gratifying career and presently I am the President & CEO of a transportation company. I don't have a lot of free time, but when I do, I still like to get on the basketball court, and occasionally get on the golf coarse, (especially since I live on a coarse). Reading is still a favorite past time, with history subjects usually getting most of my attention. I also love going to the movies and gettin...Expand for more
g together with friends.
Even though I love living up here in the Northwest, over the last 10 years I have really started to miss the old neighborhood. I couldn't figure it out for the longest time until it finally hit me. Living in the Northwest everyone only knows me as the adult I am, not knowing how my life was shaped before my adult years. In other words, I missed the "history of me," and suddenly I yearned for my old friends, those who knew me as "Joey" not the professional, Joe Shannon. Does that sound silly, maybe so, but I think it reflects on the quality of friends I had at El Camino!
Luckily for me I still get down to the old stomping grounds about once a quarter due to business, always hoping that I will run into someone.
Can't think of what else to say, but I would be emotionally remiss if I didn't let all of you know, I had a great time in high school, and that speaks volumes to the quality of all of you who let me into your lives. You would be surprised how many of you I remember to this day.
Wishing everyone much success and happiness.
