Joe's Story

While at Lakewood high school - or while in Western Washington for that matter - I never really felt as if I truly belonged. Eastern Washington was home, so naturally, that's where I returned once I had the chance. I graduated from Eastern Washington University in 1995 and started a teaching career. After ten years of teaching in Idaho and Eastern Washington, I realized I was in a complete rut, so I changed my life, took a job wiith the Department of Defense Dependent Schools and moved to Japan....Expand for more
I've been in Japan for four years - going on five - now. I am still single - though opportunities have been there, perhaps my marital status is as it should be. I can't image what life would be like with kids or a wife to worry about. I am content as I am. I lost touch long ago with all my friends from high school. (I've never been very good at long distance friendships.) I often wonder how they are, what life has dealt them, and where they are. I certainly hope all is well in their worlds.
