Joe's Story
Okay....Maybe a short story for all those that enjoy reading. Years ago, for those who remember, I went to Prince George High School and in my senior year I was annexed by Hopewell. The new Hopewell High school was being built in PG County before the annexation was; literally built a block behind my house. It was most convenient to attend the classes there for the senior year. Once signed up and a few months into my senior year, I find that I was short some credits because Hopewell would not accept the Agriculture credits I earned at PG. That was lame. I ended up another year there at Hopewell doing half days and working at the shoe store in Cavalier Square. Fun times. I married and have 5 sons.

of Transportation to widen/ straighten those nasty curves on Cedar level and City Point roads (now Jackson Farm road since the annexation). That project was paid for but kept getting pushed aside and other projects used up the funds for it. The road widening was never done to this day. Those nasty curves are responsible for several deaths, many when it was county funded and was a tar and gravel road.
Its amazing how many classmates and family members from both schools have succumbed. I still live in the Hopewell area and not yet retired but nearing those days. I welcome my friends from the past and hope that peace and safety is with you.
