Joe's Story
Currently a VP in a 5 hospital Health Care system in Oregon. Was a practicing PT with degree from CSUN/UCLA, then an MBA at St. Louis U. and into administration for last 20 years. Was a DU at CSUN and would love to reconnect with any of my brothers who see this.Swimming and Water Polo at CSUN. Swam at VNHS under Mr. Gaber. I remember Cliff Fenneman was on the team.I came to VNHS from Hawaii as a sophomore in 1960. Had my 15 minutes of fame working at Pickwick Swim Park in Burbank as a life guard when the park hosted an "American Bandstand' type TV show with Joby Baker (?). It was "Pickwick Dance Party". Saw some really big name pop singers at the time and pushed April Stevens and Nino Tempo on an inner tube raft out to the diving "island" in the middle of the pool and was filmed doing it...crazy! Saw the Beach Boys, Stevie Wonder, Clancy Brothers...what a trip!

adies like Karen Gullickson, Mary Lou Geisler at VN. I wish I could remember more names (lost my year book in a move...does anyone know how I might get one??) as there was some really fun people in our small group of buds. Roland (Scotty) Scott and I both swam for VN and after graduation went to Quantico for Marine Corps OCS and we both wanted to fly. Scottie did get through the progam and was a Major in the USMC last time I bumped into him in Westwood Village. I had a serious auto accident in '65 and didn't make it to flight school. I'm really looking forward to hearing from more of the folks who remember me and reestabling ties with old friends. When I lived in St. Louis from '71 to '86 I lost contact with just about everyone. I plan on getting to the reunion in 2012. I made the 25 year one in '87 and had a blast. Tom Leppard and I had some great post-reunion get togethers before I moved to Oregon. Cheers, Joe
