Joetta's Story
I have been married to the same person(Paul Emerson), for almost 24 years. It will be 24 years 7-7-08. I have three grown sons, 18, 22, and 24. I have 2 grand-daughters (3 and 1 years old), by the two oldest sons, and one step-grandson who is 10 years old.
I have continued to live in Dowagiac, but I work in St Joseph and go to College in Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, MI and South Bend, In. I am currently working on my Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting and my Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in Health Services. I plan to open my own business- a Hospice.
I will graduate in April, with the Associate's Degree.

When I was in High School, I wanted to become a Journalist, but my life changed when family members became ill, and I had to care for them. The hardest one was my middle son, he had Leukemia at the age of 2&1/2 years. He is married and has the 1-year old daughter. He has been in remission for 19 years and 16 years off treatments. We celebrate every March 21st.
Taking care of him, truly changed how I looked at life, then my mother-in-law was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and that just reinforced that I was going into the Health field.
So here I am, this is how I got here.
I write some poetry, love to spend time with my husband, grandbabies, and my kids.
My youngest son is in college and like the other two he works full time.
