Joey's Story

Life hmmmm....it recently came to my attention that I actually never graduated from high school. Must have given me that diploma by mistake. Even showing them my college transcripts didn't convince the higher ups, So I had to take the GED in Arkansas to keep my gravy job. So officially I am an Arkansas graduate class of 2007. Life has been an adventure. I have had an assortment of addresses/career disguises since those 4 years at Franklin, where I cut most of the last two. San Diego/wannabe beatnik. Virginia/Country Music DJ. Arkansas/working stiff. California again/Convenience Store drone. Alaska/working vacation. Actually Alaska was Dutch Harbor, where they do that "Deadliest Catch" show, and my room was only about 50 feet from where the Crab boats dock, so I wonder if I have a cameo in there somewhere walking down the dock in a daze, but I don't feel like buying the DVD to find out :) Now I'm in Arkansas again where I work at Baldor Electric and it's a job I will most likely retire on. In between I've seen a lot of America via car on my time off, smoking weed while doing 80 in the desert (My fear and loathing phase), and whatnot, and I have to say, those of you who stayed in Cali could probably do a little better by migrating :) I finally got tired of struggling daily in Cali just to enjoy about 3 days of supreme hiking in the Sierra a year, and now, cost of living-...Expand for more
wise, Arkansas does just fine by me. I live in Fort Smith, which is just about the right size city and demographic for my temperment (they're even building a Hooters in this tiny burg and I can see myself terrorizing the poor waitresses already). As you may well guess, I am single. No little Joeys running around that I know of. Plans for the future include enrolling at the local college for some film classes to enable me to work on some as yet unconceived B movie grade pet projects, or maybe porn, and perhaps doing some local stand up comedy. Only if I can do it in a way that means something. Most likely I'll just vegetate night on end in front of the big screen HD playing X Box cause I WILL NEVER GROW UP! Hahahahahaha! I pride myself in having no ambition and an open ended life. I still might do great things or some infamous things......or probably nothing at all, and still enjoy the ride. I last drove by my childhood home about 3 years ago and I hardly recognized the place. Very depressing. I only lived 5 houses down from Franklin so it was a popular hangout for cutters, even after I graduated and working two jobs ("lay off the window you deadbeats I'm sleeping!"). I kept a tight circle of friends from high school that I keep in regular touch with, and though I don't see any of them on here, I wish you all a good 15th reunion and Barack Obama in 08' please. Peace.
