John J.'s Story
After College (The University of Scranton), I entered military service -missed Vietnam -- I served for 5 years as an Armor Officer (Tanks), platoon leader, XO, Company Commander, Staff Officer and I even got to play with the M-1 Main Battle Tank (yes, it's been around since 1977 - it's older than most of the crewmen who serve on it),
I got out in 1979 and persued civilian endeavors. One company I worked for had extensive dealings in Africa - I actually used the French Sister Marie Emeric tried to teach - not to mention the years of French I took in college.
I found a home with Nabisco, now part of Kraft, in 1987. I'm working in the Planter's Nuts division -- ironic, I left the Wyoming Valley to work for a business that was started in the Wyoming Valley -- and, as I write this, I will be movin...Expand for more
g into a new position soon in the Food Service Division. This is the part of the company that caters to the restaurant, hospital, school, etc programs.
I've had the good luck over the years to travel extensively - all over the United States, Canada, the Carribean, Central America and Europe. I went on archeological digs in the Mayan ruins in Mexico and Belize. Belize (out in the jungle) is OK as long as you don't mind large snakes, insects and jaguars - but the snorkeling on the reef in northern Belize is incredible.
My office is in the HQ in East Hanover, NJ -- about 30 minutes from Manhatten, NYC although I live in the Philly burbs (beautiful Bucks County)in historic Newtown Township.
