John's Story
Life
Wellll...here goes. After leaving BG I started working and going to college. Life seemed directionless to me and I felt the need to find something deeper. I left my job and went to a Catholic Church to pray. After much reflection I felt called to serve others through the church. I pursued religious life for a few years seriously considering priesthood and the religious life. During that time I worked with youth and families ministries. Sometimes this walk took me to ministering to the homeless and runaways. Often to people seeking the very same questions that started me on the journey. This life was very fulfilling and gave me a deeper meaning in my life.

elt called to be a husband and father. I am married now and have four children. I still am involved in ministry although fulltime ministry of the type I had been involved in would have taken me away from my first responsibilities at home.
I now work as a longshoreman at the ports of LA and Long Beach. It is dangerous and hard work at times but I still feel God's hand on me protecting me and guiding me. Often I am called to minister to those I work with. Sometimes to listen, sometimes to pray with those I encounter. God has a strange sense of humor and I always keep my head down...never knowing if he is going to send something else my way. :)
Maturity and age can bring clarity to ones life...if you choose to see it for yourself.
