John's Story

Hmmm, this is daunting. I'll give it a shot. After graduating from Saguaro, I moved to Tucson, went to the UofA, and became an engineer. Got married (to a Saguaro grad!), became a father and moved to SoCal in 1988. Got divorced in 1992, and moved back to Phoenix in 1994. Been in Chandler and then Mesa ever since. I've had my butt kicked a bit over the years by life, but then again, I kicked some butt myself, so it's all good. Went to Saguaro's first, second and third football Championship games in 1995, 2006 and 2007. I felt an odd sense of pride when they won, even though I didn't know anyone on the team or any...Expand for more
of the coaches. Haven't stayed in touch with anyone from Saguaro, although strangely enough, I am now dating a woman who went to Saguaro as a freshman and sophomore in 1971 and 1972, She graduated from Scottsdale High in 1974, though. It must be weird knowing that your High School isn't there anymore, but what do you expect from a school whose mascot was a beaver? (Some rivalries never die. Ha!) Anyway, would love to hear from anyone, friend or foe, acquaintance or friend, who shared the unique experience of attending secondary school in the early 1970's in what was then considered "North Scottsdale". Take Care!
