John's Story
Life
I am currently in Yuma, Arizona (on the California border)working for the Police Department as an accident investigator. Already did the sworn Police Officer thing. I still wear the uniform, drive a police vehicle, run lights and siren, write tickets, etc, but no longer have to do the armed robberies, domestic fights, shoplifts, etc. Kind of cool actually. All I do is repond to accidents and Yuma has plenty of them. I have 5 kids ranging from 22 to 7 years old. 3 boys and 2 girls. Married for 24 years. Getting ready to have hip replacement surgery. p went bad. A lot different from the high school days where I drank chocolate shakes every night trying to gain weight.
No grandkids. In fact, no married kids. We live on an acre just outside of Yuma so we can have animals. 1 Horse, 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 guinnea pigs, 2 turtles, 1 goat, 2 rabbits and also 2 4-H lambs, 2 4-H goats, 3 pigs about ready to go to the freezer, and 1 cow headed in the same direction. Did 20 years in the Marine Corps before becoming a cop. Like a moron, got my college degree at the end of my military career instead of before it. My retirement check would be much better if I had done it in the correct order!
