John's Story

OK, I am now an official Old Man now - I turned 60 years old. To celebrate this major milestone in life my best friend Mark and I went out on a tour of the Finger Lakes of NY. (sort of a tour) Actually I was chasing Mark most of the time at 95 MPH plus. Needless to say it did not take us long to do the tour. I have some scrape marks on the engine guards from leaning into the corners! I have ridden a motorcycle every decade I have been on this earth. I will keep that up until I am to feeble to start one. Your Old Friend John Life I had a great time at LAHS. Our class is a great one, I miss everyone and think kindly about everyone. Thanks for helping me grow to who I am today. Let's see if you went to LAHS: 1. You were Conservative 2. You were a Hood (I tried to bridge one and two with a little of 3) This did not work well at all. 3. You were a Jock (Not me, but I tried) 4. You were a Mod. 5. You were Jive. 6. I almost forgot 'Rah Rah' Growing up in the 60's was fantastic! My 1953 Ford really should have started instead of pushing it to start after the JR. prom, that did not show well. But the 1964 Ford did what is was supposed to for the Sr. Prom. The Sr Prom was great, remember they locked us in at the Alpine INN in Springfield? Then the weekend at the shore afterwords, my mother swore up and down that I ran away and got married. My saddest point was leaving after the prom weekend to return to Navy Duty then and only then did I wake up to the mistake I made. I do not regret it the Navy was good to me. I tested out in a Florida school and graduated that year. I finished College at night with Post Graduate work in Computer Information Management. I may still hold the Totally Defeated record in Varsity Wrestling. The Study Hall was a great place to meet girl friends. Growing up on Elberon Ave in Lansdowne was wonderful. My best friends were Dane and Jennie Marley. I still have a ton of great memories of the cook outs we had. Also John Amorellio, and all of the "Tin Towne Tiger" gang, the Acme Parking lot boy's. l in the street until the street lights came on, hide and seek, stick ball, sledding down Scottsdale rd. The Tin Towne Tigers 'The Boy's' on the corner, J&J's Diner, the Lane. All hail the Family Drive Inn back row by Darby Creek, the MacDade Drive in, the Chester Pike Drive in, the 61st Drive and the 202 drive inn life was care free. The super large buckets of Pop Corn were great, nothing like a Drive in Movie when it was a rainy night. How many of you forgot to take the speaker out of the car window before leaving? Gino's Hamburgers and the Hot Shoppe in 69th st., or Scotties in Springfield on a Saturday night. I have two great children and now two lovely Grand Daughter's Ella and Brenna. I currently live in Western NY Finger Lakes area on Conesus Lake. I miss Lansdowne and all of it's charm dearly. Thank You to all of my childhood friends "I had a wonderful time growing up in Lansdowne and I miss and love you all!" It would be nice if we could go back and correct the bad actions we now regret, but you can't. All we can do is be the best you can and love everyday. Thank You and STAY YOUNG at heart :-) John School I enjoyed my time and friends at Lansdowne Aldan. I should have paid attention and finished my education early in life. Thank you to all of my friends at Lansdowne Aldan you added so much value to my life! We had the best dances and prettiest girls in the area. College Attended Neuman College and Sylvania Tech. School. Workplace Work really sucks downsized for the second time by the same company, Play hard!! I was lucky enough to help develop a Mamo Cad System for Kodak and I was awarded US Patent # 691164792 for my laser design in Kodak's Digital Mammography system. I hope I help just one person with breast cancer get early detection. Military US Navy Air Station Pensacola Fl. Carrier USS Shangra-La with trips to Guantanamo Bay Cuba. Operation Springboard Military Medal, National Service Medal. Test Pilot School in Pax River MD, and Early Warning Air Crew chasing Submarines on the P-3 Orion's.
