John's Story
Life
I graduated from Wilmington College in 1986, was employed by Western Brown Local Schools in 1989 and have taught there ever since. I got married in 1990 and have two great kids ages 14 and 11. They keep me busy and are the center of my world. I live in Batavia near the high school. It is close enough to Cincinnati, but not too close. I am pretty content at this point in my life.
I miss many of the friends I had at West Jefferson, and many times regret leaving there. I never really got to tell anyone goodbye. I just moved in with my Dad in 1975 and was never really permitted to stay in touch. Two of my best friends were David Schafer and Tim Little. They both died after high school. Tim's mom worked in the school cafeteria, and David's grandma and mom worked in the school office at the Frey Avenue building. They seemed like great parents.

parents went through an ugly divorce. I have made every effort to learn from some of their mistakes.
My teachers in West Jefferson from K-8 were great. Becoming a teacher myself, I have come to appreciate what they were able to do for me. I can read very well. I enjoy learning and teaching. I love music, thanks to Mrs. Argenbright and Mrs. Miller. I stayed with the school band until I graduated, thanks in part to Mr. Moore. I have done very well for myself, thanks to some very dedicated teachers.
I wish things had turned out better during the formative years, but I know God has a reason for everything.
My mother passed away in 2000. She was only 60. I miss her very much. However, I am blessed with a loving wife and two of the coolest kids anyone could ask for. I have 5 nieces and nephews that are great. I even have a new sister-in-law. She's as sweet as they come.
