John's Story
Life
After 39 years I've relocated my firm and residence back to Pasadena. I've been fortunite enough to live on the Strand in Hermosa Beach, the Upper East Side of Manhattan (NYC), the top of Topanga Canyon, Pacific Palisades (AKA "the Westside"), and now back to the tree lined streets of Pasadena. When I left for the Marine Corps in Feb/63 there were few good restaurants; now there are a number of very good and several excellent restaurants. Back in 62 Old Town was just that, "Old" now its the center of activity for the city. I don't know if I've changed or Pasadena but it's quite a different place from 1962.
College

to college in 67. My wife was also in college. Had a great time, joined a frat consisting of a majority of ex-servicemen. Worked, used the GI Bill and every loan and scholarship that I could qualify for. While in we college had a daughter, which focused my attention in early graduation in 1970.
Military
Joined the Marines in Feb/63, graduated from boot camp in San Diego May/63. Assigned Sea School in SD, then in Sept/63 to Marine Detachment with the 7th Fleet Flagship USS Oklahoma City. In Viet Nam and Japan, 64/65. Returned to 29 Palms in Aug/65 and assigned to the Nuclear Ordnance Platoon as NCO in charge. Discharged to return to college Nov/66.
