John's Story
I came to QA as a seventh grader, after having moved from a small town in the Olympic Peninsula. At first it was overwhelming, but I made friends in Chorus, found my place and loved the school. After graduation, I went to UofW and graduated in Cartography/Geography.
The military called and I joined USAF as an aircrew member on C-130's which took me to SE Asia for several years. Returning Stateside, I became a USAF instructor and curriculum manager. As my family grew, I decided to return to Seattle, becoming a residential mortgage officer and eventual area manager.

fordable housing programs.I also became active in local community choruses, both as a singer and manager.
Ron and I married in San Francisco and moved to the Tucson area to be closer to his family. We now live in Oro Valley, AZ and love what the area has to offer. I'm semi-retired and keep active in real estate support fields. Travel (when possible) has always been part of our lives, with favorite places in Bali, Northern Italy and France.
But whenever in Seattle and on the ferry in Elliott Bay, I look at that pile of grey blocks between the TV towers on Queen Anne Hill, and wonder at how my life had formed its pathways after those momentous years as a Grizzly.
Warmly,
JB
