John's Story
Howdy, Most of my fellow classmates probably don't even remember me, after all it's been over thirty some odd years. When I left Dickinson Jr high I was placed into a Catholic School(St Mary's of Orchard Lake, still in MI) vice going to Stevenson high. At this time Pam Vowler & I were still seeing each other. By December we sold our house on Dardanella and moved to Tampa FLA where I wet to LETO High school for a few years. I sure missed the people in Livonia and moms went nutty(over stressed from move) Sorry to say; I opted for my GED while in the NAVY where I took Electronic courses and became a Sonar Technician. In the NAVY I was in San Diego CA, Norfolk VA, Mayport FL, Staten Island NY, Newport RI. In my 12 year stint I was able to go to the Mediterranean twice. Once was during the Beirut crisis, We were on the gun line, crossed the line of death. Visited Spain, France, Italy, Turkey,Israel, our Cuban base (GITMO), several trips to the Caribbean and Bahamas, went thru the Panama Canal (watch...Expand for more
ed the tigers win world series there), obviously visited, Panama, Honduras(during that crisis), and Costa Rica, and went to Nova Scotia. As you can see join the NAVY and see the world (HA-HA). While in the service I met my future wife Vanessa. We've been together for a little over 21 years but married for only 8 years (talk about taking it slow). We have 3 kids Dawn, Jennifer, & Christopher, but wait there's more; like 6 grandchildren Brianna, Jordan, Johnathan, David, CJ(Christopher Jr.), Anthony, and at the time of this writing 1 more on the way, as you can read I'm hoping for a girl (too many boys). After the service I tried many,many jobs Insurance salesman, road technician for SEARS, Limo driver, Dye color maker, and my last career is a letter carrier for the US Postal service in New Bedford MA. I am now living in Fall River MA and I guess life is good (better if I hit the Lottery, too many Christmas presents) and I hope that some of you will remember me and drop a line.
