John's Story
College
I completed my undergraduate studies at The Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech). The only other JHS grad from our class that went to Georgia Tech was Frank Holleman. While he pursued a PhD in Physics (no big surprise there), I was...shall we say, on the less Âbrainy side of the campus. Therefore, our paths did not cross too often while we were at Georgia Tech. However, Frank and I reconnected last year...after many years of lost contact. I am happy to report that it has been great becoming reacquainted with Frank, his lovely wife Ruth, and their four boys. .back to this college part of my profile. Years later (1994-1995), I went back to graduate school at The University of Texas at Austin. There, I earned a Masters of Science degree in Petroleum & Geosystems Engineering (now...isn't that a mouthful?). That will probably be the culmination of my formal educational pursuits. However, I am a strong advocate of the belief that education is a lifelong pursuit. Your brain is just like any muscle in your body...exercise it and it will become stronger and remain healthy. If you let it become lazy through idleness, it will most certainly atrophy. :)
