John's Story

Military After high school I worked for my grandfathers foundry buisness until my delayed enlistment in December of that year 1978. I did basic training in San Antonio TX then school for Radar Maintenance in Biloxi MS for 7 months. From there I was assigned to Nellis AFB in Los Vegas NV for a year before going back to Biloxi on my motorcycle for more school before going overseas to Germany. Where I spent two years keeping the Russians to the east. After that I put in for extended duty to go to the Phillapine Islands, but got sent to Phoniex AZ instead. A year later I sperated with an Honorable discharge and got a job with AT&T 10 months later in 1985. I spent 6 months working for a defense contractor in Chelsford MA. in 1984 In 1987 I was assigned to the third shift there for 7 years then I got layed off. 7 months later I got rehired with AT&T, which became Lucent then I went to days for 8 years where I accumulated 8 years of perfect attendance before getting layed off this June. Since then I have gone to school for Bio-medical engineering, and worked briefly at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA. I have been looking for work as an Electronics technician since October of this year.
