You know, life is always throwing curves at you , always testing you to see what your made of , but after a few years and a lot of curves and tests you tend to know which curves to avoid and how you will fair in the tests. You will know which times it is important to stand up for what you feel and which battles should be left for a younger soul. You try your best to show your children the road that will have the least bumps and only hope their independence you helped them acquire wont lead them the other way. Life is a funny thing and you can only hope you go out laughing. JC
Life has been good to me ,never easy, but there are very few moments I would trade for anything else. I may be making all the right decisions today but my learning curve seems to have always been to first make the wrong decision . Leading with your heart doesn't always put you in the right place but it might give you memories to cherish for life. Me again
I have always had a hard time updating my mental picture of myself ,you know, its the one that we see of ourselves when there isn't a mirror around to call us a liar. I have usually kept mine around for about 20 years before I was forced to take it down and put one up that more closely approximated reality. ...Expand for more
You would think that as hard as I have worked to acquire the lines wrinkles and scars that they would just fall into place and become a given part of what I see when I picture myself.Be proud of who you are and where you've been , we have been through a time that will never be again and if were still alive we DID make it.When your kids mention protesters educate them , because there is no better teacher then the one that lived through it. We , better then any other generations that have followed, know just what rights we have lost. We were an unstoppable force in our time for what we thought was right.Just because we don't jump on every injustice don't think that we don't see it. Pass the knowledge of where you've been along let them know that just because someone made a law is isn't necessarily right..I think that there has always been some looming disaster in our minds that could end all the world as we know it, when I was a teenager it was the inevitable nuclear holocaust that was going to happen when the person in charge of THE BUTTON felt it was time to push it. Today it's the short sighted Mayan calender but we have seen enough of these come and go to not let it rule our life's. Live like you mean it and die when its time and try not to give it up in between. Care,JC.
