was lacking any skills; even through I felt the pangs of incompleteness. I attempted many new tasks as I grew in my professional life. I continued to search for a way to feel complete. New possibilities were always on the horizon, and I jumped at many of them. I saw, early on, the power and possibilities of the data manipulation and management and the Internet.
I took chances with my career; I moved from the safety of salaried positions to the rough and wild frontiers of independent consulting. Now, after several years of supporting a cross-section of the American banking population (well, 8 million Wells Fargo online-banking customers), I know that networking makes possible a plethora of applications, from video-conferencing over the Internet to linking bank-to-bank transfers through private networks. I have attempted to explain the modern technocrat world to friends, family and, yes, sometimes even co-workers who should know about technology. I see the changing world around me as a grand adventure- “a brave new world”- one in which I most certainly want to participate.
