John's Story

Life July 2002 -just got first ever hole-in-one at my club (Deer Brook) here in Shelby. 35 years of hacking and finally got one. Been there - done that. After graduation from SUNY Oswego married and then taught High School at Palmyra-Macedon for two years. Got Masters in Geological Engineering at University of Missouri-Rolla. Then to Northern Michigan with a copper mining company. From there to Washington DC with the Department of the Interior - Bureau of Mines. While with Interior also had positions of Research Director at Research Centers in Spokane and Minneapolis. Did a lot of travel - USSR, Great Britain, Pakistan and Australia among places seen. While in Minneapolis - divorced and left government service for the private sector and got remarried. Later realized...Expand for more
that both wife 1.0 and job 1.0 had been pretty good after all - but can't look back. After moving from Minneapolis to Pittsburgh to Atlanta ended up in Ocala FL, divorce from 2.0 along with the move. Worked there from 1989-2000 for Emergency One - largest emergency vehicle manufacturer (Fire Trucks, Ladders, Airport) in the world. Variety of positions - mostly in manufacturing resources planning. Was recruited to new job with Curtiss-Wright in Shelby NC as Master Scheduler(manufacturing of high performance aircraft parts) and Materials Planning in late 2000. Can't imagine that it has been 40 years+ since high school! Sure doesn't seem like I should be that old! Would like to hear from anyone who remembers - before we all start to forget what we had yesterday for lunch.
