John's Story

Life I up-dated this as of February 16 2024. I now reside in Magnolia Texas [about 50 miles northwest of Houston].. I have been through a lot both good and bad. I was quite shy in my school days. People that know me now find that hard to believe. On the outside people see a wild and crazy musician with my throttle stuck open. Growing up with musicians and bikers will do that to you. But on the inside, I am thoughtful and always ready to listen or help. There is a shortage of that it seems. I think the world has lost whatever was left of their minds. And I am still more than a bit shy. I have stayed single after a short, disastrous marriage that ended ironically on Valentines Day 1976. After years of dating "Mrs. Wrongs", I am happy and blessed with the direction my life has taken. No children or immediate family. Lost my parents to cancer, and my brother James to alcohol poisoning. I moved here to Texas in 91 determined to make a new start. I put my best foot forward and have never looked back. I still play drums. I also play guitar and bass [I collect them]. I built a 30x30 music studio on my property. I love being out there. I have went ou...Expand for more
t and played many a night, and walked out to the sun being up. I play a lot of benefits and fund raisers. I live in a little old house out in the country surrounded by trees, not people. People might say my house is just a big man cave, but it is a clean man cave. When I get free time I like being out with friends on the boat [it sleeps 6], staying home by the pool, or on the backroads on my bike. I am somewhat of a homebody. After years and years of playing in bars, I generally don't go to them much now unless I am getting paid to be there. I love to cook and am very good at making things from scratch. I finally got that model railroad layout I always wanted to build and it is a hobby I really enjoy. And I live next to the railroad tracks, so that is a bonus for me. I still have a good time, I just remember it the next day. I quit "everything else". I have slipped a time or three. I do not see how I ever like it, and couldn't wait to get it out of my system. If there is one thing I've learned is to never give up. Thank you for stopping by. And since you did, don't forget to say "Hello". That's all for now folks. Take care and God Bless. John
