John's Story

HMMM, Where to start? After High school; I began dating debbie Satterfield and we relocated to Louisiana in 79 and our daughter Cassey was born there. We moved back to CP in late 79 and remained there untill the job market fell out in 81. We moved to Houston and stayed there for 8 mos and had enough. Moved back again. I went to work in food service delivery and things were good. In 85 our son Nigel was born. We moved around the are and finally bought an old victorian on Court st. by the fair grounds. We fixed it up and sold it in 90 and moved to the country in Hebron. Went through 3 houses there and the 3rd one was on 5ac. where we built a full size motocross track and that was the place all the kids wanted to be. There ...Expand for more
was always kids there riding and swimming or working on tricks by jumping bicycles into the pond. As the kids got older and went to work after grauating we decided to downsize and moved to another house in Hebron with less acerage and upkeep. Six months after we moved in Nigel was involved in an car accident on his way home from work (we worked together) he did not make it. That was the worst day of our lives. Still very difficult to deal with. I was promoted to warehouse supervisor 6mos later and then in Dec of 07 the company began laying off upper Mgt. I was given the option to transfer or take a severance. I chose the transfer and we moved to Akron Oh. Still not happy with that decision and plan to move back someday.
