John's Story
We get to a time in our lives when we start thinking about old Pals and life when we didn't have a clue. Guys are a bit slow on that comparing my two grown sons and two grown daughters.
After graduation I attended UVA for two years while dodging the draft. I dropped out for l semester to work and the Viet Nam Tour Guide came knocking. Turned out I had a bad knee and was classed 1Y. Without the constant fear of rain forest and gunfire, I worked a year for a stock broker in D.C. My room mate at Virginia lived in Clearwater, Fl and invited me down. His parents owned a beach house and let us stay there while we finished the last two years of college in 4 at USF in Tampa. Degree in hand and also a pretty good tan I decided to work part time and relax from the stress of college.

osition as an underwriter with Allstate at their regional office in St. Pete. I was planning on becoming an agent when State Farm offered me an agency position. Became a "good Neighbor Agent" in '73 and considering retiring next year.
I was 24 when I married and not very smart as guys go and got divorced after 5 years. I remarried 5 years later and have two daughters and a wonderful wife, five grandchildren who are still young enough to think I am smarter than anyone. I really enjoy the time with them. Three girls and two boys 6 to 13 and all good looking like their granddad. We lived on the Gulf for years, enjoying boating and the island beaches off shore. We moved three years ago to a golf course community in Trinity, Fl about 15 miles north of Clearwater. Life has given us all ups and downs, but we have a loving family and great friends.
