John's Story
Left SC two days after graduation. Attended Northwest Jr. College and then went on to the University of Miss for a BA in Sociology. Enrolled in Army ROTC at Ole Miss and became a Field Artillery Officer. Served on Okinawa (1yr) with 1st Special Forces Group, 82nd Airborne Div (3yrs), 3rd Infantry Div (3 miserable years),18th Abn Corps (3yrs) and JFK Special Warfare Center (2yrs). Got caught in the Reduction In Force in the mid 80's and left the Army. Married in 1977 and still sleeping with that same woman. Two daughters. . Youngest is still single and working for the MS State Crime Lab. Uncle Sam paid for a Masters in International Relations that I have never used. Currently managing a premier wine and spirits shop in Jackson, MS and when I can find the time competing with a pistol wherever I can find a match. To blow my own horn, I won the C Class National Championship in Revolver Division of USPSA in 2008. I have been the MS State Champion in revolver once and runner-up twice. In 1977 I was the 20 Gauge D Class world Champion, 12 gauge B Class 3rd Place and Eastern Open 12 Gauge Champion.
