John's Story
Life
Started with American Airlines in 1968. Moved from New York in 1976 and raised our family in Tulsa. Joanne opened a boarding stable for horses. Looks like work to me.
Retired from American at the end of 2008. Worked in Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance & Quality Assurance over those 41 years. After retiring in 12/08 worked another 12 years as a contractor for them, until COVID
hit. Also, worked with Miami Air International as customer rep...Expand for more
for their engine overhauls. COVID killed them the week after the American gig ended. Still pickup a CFM56 Table Top Inspection from time to time at GE Strother's. Benefit of spending 20+ in American's Tulsa Engine Shop.
Thanks to Aviation High School for the gift that keeps on giving. I've never been disappointed in the career choice. Started with Pan Am as Aircraft Cleaner in 67 and finished up with American as Managing Director Base Maintenance in 08. What a ride!
