John's Story
My primary claim to fame, such as it is, comes from having unmasked a popular illusion: Oliver, the "Humanzee" was supposedly a human-chimpanzee hybrid, and speculation tickled many who enjoyed stories about Yeti, the Bigfoot etc. Along with a chromosome specialist friend, I did the DNA studies that demonstrated that poor Oliver was simply an ordinary chimpanzee with a shaved head and all his teeth pulled, which made his face look really weird, kind of Spock-like. Just in case you are out-of-touch with popular cryptozoology culture, you can read all about Oliver on Wikipedia, or on Rense dot com (regrets, but Classmates won't let me post the URL, which is a terrible pity because all of this is COMPLETELY LIFE-CHANGING and also helps you lose weight....)

netic debunking, some true believers continue to believe that Oliver was either one of Darwin's evolutionary "sports" or some scientific conspiracy (CIA? KGB? Vatican? Bavarian Order of the Illuminati?) to cross humans with apes. Goodness knows what for!? But really there is no limit to extraordinary popular delusions.
Anyway, the reason this made me "famous" is because I refuted Andy Warhol's important rule:
"In the future, everyone will be famous for 15 minutes."
HOWEVER, every time that documentary, "Humanzee: The Human Chimp" (see IMDb website) shows on TV again, I'm famous for another 15 minutes. Must be up to about 45 minutes by now....
Therefore, Andy Warhol was WRONG!
And of course, all of this proves that Cryptozoology is better than Campbell's soup-cans...
