John's Story
Life
I *loved* high school. Now I've been married 28 years, I have two children, Mira 10 and Brandon 8, and I'm a professional tutor, I teach physics, calculus, and most kinds of math in high school or lower-division college. However, my main life's work is hypnosis and trance phenomena, which I've been doing since the Human Potential Movement of the 1970s. I do what is called Peak Performance work, I've had many students and clients over the years, but I don't do this for a living because it would put too many constraints on my work. I only do cutting-edge hypnosis and the research that goes with that, I'm not the least bit interested in helping people lose weight or stop smoking, that is so boring. Also I am crazy about music, I listen to jazz, rock, and classical all the time, I take classes in piano and guitar and music theory, and I'm learning composition and songwriting. mention rewarding. Finally I want to say that the 1960s was a heavenly, marvelous decade that I got to experience with my crazy friends as a teenager, for which I am eternally grateful, and I predict here categorically that next decade (2010 on, and on) will make the 1960s look like kindergarten. Everything will blow sky-high in terms of cultural rebirth and exploration, not to mention rebellion. I put people in trance all the time and this is something virtually all of them see coming; on the Internet it is referred to as the Singularity, as originally predicted by Terence McKenna in the early 1970s. I'm a huge believer in the Unconscious, I've seen what it can do. To quote the great Jimi Hendrix, I enjoy waving my freak flag high, and I never became a conservative old robot like so many, many baby-boomers did, who were given so much but never learned how to be grateful.
