John's Story
I'm back in New Jersey now for 2 years, watching over Dad as a caregiver. We live in Cedar Commons on East Cedar Street, a retirement home where I'm easily the youngest resident -- at 61. I got out of the journalism business and am looking for work. If anyone has any connections with the USGA, I've got a load of experience as a writing and editor and they've got an opening that would be just perfect for me. Speaking of golf, my daughter Katie, who became quite a good golfer in high school, used a scholarship from Lemon Bay Golf Club (Placida, Fla.) toward her education at South Florida. ing therapy and will return to her hometown of South Bend to work in the hospital she was born in (Memorial) as a therapist. She will do great things. My son Matthew, who was an all-area baseball player at North Port (Fla.) High School (I was made aware of that when my old high school coach, Bill Lampeter, who lives in Venice, told me he saw it in a rival newspaper), is entering his senior year at South Florida and hopes for a sports marketing career (work with a professional sports team, i.e. MLB team, i.e. the Tampa Bay Rays, if you have any connection) when he is done next summer. My wife Lynette and I are separated (she's still in North Port, working for the Sarasota School System, and looks after Lucy, our Maltese). I miss them all.
