John's Story
Life
Hey Everyone it's me J.P... I'll do my best to give you a up to date quick overview of what I've been doing with myself. Shortly after I graduated from DHS I joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Bragg. What a surprise when Kevin Reinhold was only about a mile down the road from me and Theresa Nolde was going to school about an hour away. After the military I went to Salisbury State and Majored in Business, and played for the Tennis team. After about a year and half of school I started working for MAMSI Health plan in the Marketing Department but was shortly transferred into the I.S. department to be a programmer. Well, I did that job for about 4 years and then bounced around in various HMO's for about another 6. Well I got tired of programming and that's when I was offered a job to run an IS department at Johns Hopkins Healthplan. Well I stuck with that job for about 3 years and then I decided to get into consulting. So now I am a Unix consultant down here in Northern VA and I am loving life. I'm still single(I just haven't found the right one) but I keep hoping that I'll find that one. I live right in Bethesda so if anyone wants to meet up, and catch up just drop me an email!! See ya around... JP
School
I guess for me Damascus at first was hard. I went to private school before going to the last part of 8th grade at Baker. The schools were so much different and it kind of made it hard to fit in. But for the most part I love DHS. It's part of my history and it's a big part of who I am. People all around the area are always amazed how us Dam...Expand for more
ascus people can be seperated for so long yet act like we've never been seperated. I guess that's the benefit of going to a small school. As far as my memories, I'll just spit some of them out since there are so many. Getting drunk at McDonalds with K.C.'s radio running, Moxley hill climb, Hanging with K.C., Mike Hunt, and Easterday, winning the state championship, my geeky friends in the computer club, dropping like 40lbs wrestling my Junior year, Brown Church, Theresa Nolde(your awesome girl!!), senior trip was a trip, too many other things I'll run out. God, I feel like I'm typing my senior memories.
College
What can I say, I went to Salisbury and Frostburg. I partied too much, and didn't graduate. I guess school didn't agree with me too much. I've done well in my career in computers mostly because classes are high density and they keep my attention. I miss being in sports though and wish I would have stuck it out with the Tennis team at Salisbury. I really enjoyed being a Adventure Sports Management major at Frostburg. It almost didn't feel like studying. I loved it so much it made the classes I didn't like(English, History, etc) easy.
Military
What can I say, I had a great time.. Part of me says I wouldn't do it again. But if I hadn't done it then I wouldn't have had the friends that I had. I miss the guys (Duffy's, Evans, Raymer, Piper, Lee, Wakefields, etc). And I guess that I hope we have a reunion or something and try to keep in touch. It would be fun later when we are all geezers to get together and scare the grandkids with our wild stories.
