John's Story
A little over a month ago I celebrated my 30th wedding anniversary and got really nostalgic which is what brought me to this site. Wow, wasn't Pleasant Hill a GREAT place to grow up?! Remember putting your mitt on your handle bars and taking off - mom and dad didn't have to worry about you.
After graduation I went to work in the flooring business with Mike Brashear. In 1977 I met my wife, Denise (a graduate of Ygnacio Valley), married her in 1978, bought our first house (on Ardith Drive in Gregory Gardens ... wow, still can't believe I bought a house in the old neighborhood!), had our first child, Katie in 1981, then sold the house and moved to Placerville to start a business with Mike. Our son, Daniel, was born 2 years later.

My daughter, Katie, is a 2nd year law school student at Denver University and committed to the El Paso County District Attorney's office. She married her high school sweetheart, Jed (a mechanical engineer), in 2004 and has a beautiful little girl, Clara Grace, our first grandchild. Kate, Jed, and Gracie live about 3 miles from us here in Colorado Springs.
My son, Daniel, is a cadet for the El Paso County Sheriff's Department. He married his high school sweetheart, Jess (a Montessori teacher), this past spring and they are expecting our second grand daughter! They live about a mile and a half away.
Life is good!
