John's Story
Life
Retired, Partner in an Engineering Firm with my son and daughter, totally involved with the Univ of TN as a Professor in Technology Transfer and Business Development in the School of Engineering and withtheir sports programs.
My Spouse
Mary, Director of Education for HCA Skyline Hopsital, my best friend and companion. "Finds ways to accomodate the family's crazy life style" We travel a great deal for both pleasure and business. She is the Love of my life
My favorite place is at home with our family. Brothers Ken, Bob and sister Joan are nearby and we gather frequently. Richard (Dickie) pasted way several years ago and is missed greatly.
My Pets
Two golden retrevers and two plott hounds. They live for the lake. They enjoy boating,swimming off our dock, or just floating on tubes with the kids and enjoy the occassional trip to the farm just to run all out
My Kids
First born, a son (Shawn); As all sons he is perfect in most ways. He is a graduate engineer from UT Knoxville in in chemical engineering and worked as an Intern at the Oak ...Expand for more
Ridge National Labs while working on his MBA and MIE. He recieved the Robert Neyland Scholarship, and several engineering scholarships.
Second and most lovely, a daughter Karen. She graduated from UT Knoxville majoring in BioMed Engineering. Also completed her MBA and MIE witha better GPA than her brother (she enjoys having that menton as every opportunity) She recieved the James L. Howard Scholarship, the engineering department scholarship and several other supporting grants. She is a superior soccer player and turned down numerous opportunities to attend schools on athletic grants. She brings a smile to our lives and warmth on those loney evenings at the empty nest she left us with.
My Job
I am retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority. I curently consult as an Engineer with several federal agencies. Currently I am a senior engineering manager for HAZMED and currently serving US Army Corps of Engineers at Ft Campbell, Ky. I basicly design and build energy generating and distribution systems for the army and other industrial clients.
