John's Story
Life
Updated on 10/24/05. After high school, I worked at FLEXTRONICS for about 7 years as a maintenance person from 1977 to 1984.(Now that I think back, that was an awsome job!) I then moved to Nevada and after 2 years in a vinyl sheet making plant, I was promoted to supervisor(more like a baby sitting job), and worked as a supervisor for 16 years. September 11th & other mishaps, put us out of business. Since I live in a small town, jobs were few and far between, but my past experience has paid off. I now work for the school district as a maintenance person.........coooool job! I've been married for 23 years and have a daughter (22 years of age) in college on the east coast, she will graduate in May 2006. I live about 60 miles from Reno. I visit Reno, Lake Tahoe, Carson City & Gardnerville about twice a month. I haven't seen anyone from the Newark/Fremont area since 1984, I always wonder how everyone is doing. Of all the times I've been to Reno, Lake Tahoe & Carson City, I thought maybe I might run into someone from the bay area but maybe no...Expand for more
body from the bay area goes to casinos or any of the shows. Who knows, maybe someday I'll see someone I once knew. I'm still going to sign up for classmates, one of these days. What do I do for fun? I go quading to remote areas, usually to old mining towns or rivers where no man has gone before....lol(sound like startrek?) We also find hiking trails to hike on, picnic at nearby lakes & rivers, go looking for rocks, fossils & old indian arrow heads (lots of arrow heads made from obsidian). When the weather is bad.......hmmmmm, then it's time to go to Reno and watch some shows or go to the malls or just have lunch, movie and dinner then come back home. When it snows, that's coooooooool, we just stay indoors drink hot chocolate and watch the snow come down. And then when there's a foot of snow on the ground, it's time to get in my 4 X 4 Tundra and drive through the nearby mountains.......it's so cooooool to be the first one's to break in the snow (just like in the commercials!). Enough updating for now. Talk to everyone later, John Hernandez
