John's Story
When I got out of high school
in 1974 I went to a flying school in California. Then I went to UAF for an associate degree.
I was a bush pilot ( kind of in 1978)
Married Kim Dunshie ( Ken Dunshie’s daughter) Kens a guidance counselor from Ryan.
We have 2 boys 31 and 28.
In 1986 got an airline pilot job. We moved to DFW. We kept the Alaska house.
Every summer we would came back home, for Me it’s 6 weeks for Kim and the boys it’s like 3 Months.
Retired in 2012 I had enough check rides.
2012 till now growing 5000 peonies.

oo much like work,
But Kim bought me some new suitcases for Christmas. I might be ready to fly again (Vacation).
380 trips DFW-HNL-DFW in 7 years.
Some flight attendants have over 1700 trips to HNL. I had a 28 hour layover every trip. I had to keep doing it till I got it right.
Every time I would see the Hawaiian mountains in the distance I would like hear the Hulu dancer drums in my head.
Never got tired of flying to Hawaii.
It was a good way to see a small part of the world and getting paid too. I flew a lot of flights to Europe also. And flew all over the USA. But like any job it gets old. This post is getting too long.
