John's Story

Life My Emily is seven, just finished second grade. I managed to have an only child twice in my life. Might go for three... I keep thinking I'll get my life in gear one of these days. Son just started at Wake Forest. Somehow I picked a great mother for him, no thanks to me. Bankers daughter from Kentucky horse country. Met her at IBM. Is that friend Rece Bly in Portland, an attorney, pushing for alternative energy progress? Highlight of 2000 reunion: Kathy Gigax twins! Spun me back down the maelstrom of time. The circle of life! ma teacher. Miss Chivens, first year teaching after Bryn Mawr, gave us a lifelong love of live stage acting. I saw Ibsen, Chekhov, Shksp on tiny stages all over Manhattan. But Dan did more, and gives that love to new generations. I hope my Emily gets a teacher like him. Meeting in 2010? I'll come. I let 1970 get away. Then I let 2000 get away. Now I'm letting today get away, swooning over past and future. A lot of you are retired? I'm just getting started.
