John's Story

Life In 1975 I moved from Sunset Beach, Ca. to Roseburg, Or. where I joined the police department. After a family reunion in 1976, I ran into and started dating Judy Mingle (Edgewood 65). We were married the following year. We will celebrate our 30th anniversary this year. In 1999 I retired from the Roseburg Police after serving my last 6 years as police chief. We moved to Eugene, Or. where Judy became the CEO of Sacred Heart Hospital. I went to work for Mercedes-Benz. Judy was promoted again to Sr. V.P. of her corporation and we moved to Seattle. In 2002 our youngest daughter decided on grad school in Southern California. She found a apartment in Seal Beach. The following year Judy and I purchased a condo in Huntingt...Expand for more
on Beach, in the harbor. Our daughter moved in there for the time being. We have decided to retire there and are in the process of remodeling it. So after all these years in the Northwest, we will be returning to our roots. At the start of 2007 I started writing a novel. It is called "Try to Remember". It is the story of Tim Rowe and his sophomore year of high school in 1962-63. Sorry it's not set in Covina, but Newport Beach/Corona del Mar. It will be published by iUniverse in the spring of 2008 and will be available on line from Barnes & Noble and B. Dalton stores. Some of you are in it. See if you recognise yourself. My model for Tim's girlfriend was in the class of 1962. Please buy it. I could use the money!!
