Attended Tarleton State College from 1959-1966, out for two years working in Ballinger for Barr & Wright Feed Company. Graduated with a degree in Economics, minor in Government/History/Mathematics. Graduated as a 2/nd Lt in the army, as an artilleryman, with 1st station being Ft Sill, Oklahoma, from 1966-1968. Departed for flight school (FW) in Sep 1968, 9 months later graduated as a fixed wing pilot, with orders for Vietnam. Served in Chu Lai, RVN, (as a pilot with the 21 RAC) from June 1969-1970, with new assignment being to Ft Sill, Ok from 1970-1973. (Future assignments as follows: Rotary Wing Transition Training, Ft Rucker, AL, from Aug 1973-2 Jan 1974. Served in 3rd Armored Division, Germany, Hanau, helicopter pilot, from Jan 1974-Jul 1977. Served in US Army Recruiting Command, Ft Sheridan, Il, Aug 1977-Aug 1980 Assigned to Ft Knox, KY, from Aug 1980-May 1984, airfield Opns officer Assigned to Andrews AFB, Washington, DC, for 4 months, for USAF C-12 transition Assigned to republic of Pakistan from January 1985-June 1986, as a pilot/opns officer, with the American embassy in Islamabad, PK, providing helicopter support, fixed wing support, and M1 tank training to the Pakistani military Ordered to Ft Ord, CA, for final army duty assignment, airfield operations officer, June 1986-1987 Retired from the military on 31 May 1987, with 21 years of active duty service.
