John's Story
Remember a large blondish football player? No, that wasn't me; that was Mark Sanborn. Remember the darker-haired guy that used to hang around him sometimes? That was me.
Remember the really bright boy in the class? That was Gary Schwartz. Or was it Andrew Schwartz. I could never tell those two crazy twins apart. Anyway I used to hang around them too. I didn't look much like them.
Remember the guy who was always saying clever, funny things? That was Scott Buchannan. He could also play the piano and perform surgery, evidently. Now I'm not sure why I'm comparing myself to him. W...Expand for more

Remember the really great singer? You know, from chorus and concert choir and everything? That was Pam. I hung around her a lot. She later introduced me to my future wife. No, I'm not kidding.
Remember Bill Havice, the track star? You might have seen me with him too. Just a few seconds behind him, but we were very close.
I drove my father's pea-soup-green Toyota Corona to school. Does that ring any bells? They haven't manufactured a car that ugly since 1974, but it had a standard transmission, which made it cooler than a Corvette with an automatic.
